Jackson, MS & surrounding areas
Hi there! Your friendly breastfeeding supportin' neighborhood doula! I am a cultural/traditional doula offering childbirth and lactation education and support, prenatal, birth, and immediate postpartum services to, but not limited to, the undeserving black women in my surrounding community. Placental services to follow in the future so be on the lookout! My scope of the practice lies from McComb to Madison, MS. I believe in empowering the women I work with, to be their own advocate and imagine the birth experience that they want. Together we will manifest that experience. Creating a loving, nurturing, comforting and positive environment for mom, baby and the family!
Birth Euphoria came to life in 2018 by the owner, Totiana Michael. Totiana's interest in becoming a doula started as a young child but grew widely in her experiences supporting members of her extended family and friends through their transition into parenthood. Totiana strives to provide holistic support for families welcoming a new child or children into their homes whether that is informational support or whether your needs are practical or even just a listening ear. She sees herself as a gentle guiding light through the darkness of fears and the unknown so that families may reach a place of empowerment and strength. She is comfortable with children of all ages due to her varied experiences as an educator and child care provider. She is loving, patient and caring as well as firm and cool-headed when necessary. She is dedicated to supporting the healthy development of infants and their families through this significant life change. Totiana is happy to offer continued support to her birth doula clients and to new families who’d only prefer postpartum support, or have another doula for their birth. She will work with you from birth through the 4th trimester, until new families feel confident enough to be on their own and have found their groove. These visits focus on unifying everyone into this new lifestyle of being parents and caring for a newborn, and from the baby’s end, being a newborn! She will work out the best possible feeding routine for you and baby, eat nourishing food and unpack any feelings you might be experiencing. Totiana can be with babe(s) while you take some “you” time to bathe, nap or get fresh air. All important things for new parents!
Her knowledge of the newborn time is based upon personal experience with her own children and witnessing the realities of the other families she has worked with during this precious and transformational time. Totiana realizes that each experience is truly unique, as each family operates differently. In all, she hopes to offer you guidance, solutions, resources and bring a sense of normalcy to such a new time in one’s life.
Welcome to Birth Euphoria! My name is Totiana and I am the face of birth euphoria. I live in Mississippi, born and raised. Birth Euphoria came about “Because the Black American woman is an endangered species. Because the Black American baby is an endangered species. Because the Black American is an endangered species.” Having to sit back and accept the fact that the color of our skin means that our babies are 3-4 times more likely to die than anyone else, will happen no more. Being a Black American doula is how I aim to help fight back. “Birth Euphoria” got its name from a Facebook status I made without realizing how deep the statement I made was. I talked about how I get such a high from birth that I could do it for every woman I cross paths with. After months of struggling to find a name, and remembering my statement from months before, it just clicked! I get a high off of giving birth, watching others birth, supporting mothers giving birth, even just talking about birth. It puts me in this “coma state” of a hypnotic trance and I LOVE it! “The individual at this depth of ‘trance’, which is beneath the level of somnambulism, experiences feelings of total ‘bliss’ and ‘EUPHORIA’. That came from a hypnosis article I read when researching hypnobirthing before using it for the birth of my child. Let me share my empowering birth high with you! Check out my story on FB to find out more about BIRTH EUPHORIA.

I will always recommend Totiana’s doula services to anyone. She so dedicated and passionate about what she does. She’s never misleading and so supportive. She’s like an encyclopedia with all the information you need. Tot is ALWAYS available. She stand firmly on what she believe in. I loved that I could ask so many questions and gain so much knowledge from her, being that I’m a first time mother. She’s an open book and never judges you. Even after services, she checks upon you. She’s just PHENOMENAL all the way around. Thus far the greatest experience I’ve encountered.
Impeccable service! Over the top positivity! Everything was/went perfect! I had my baby a little over 9 months ago and the service and knowledge Totiana provided before, during and after birth was superb! I really am thankful for her being there with me. I feel my birthing experience wouldn’t have went as well if she wasn’t there. I’m forever grateful. I’d recommend/suggest her services at any point in time to anyone, she knows exactly what she’s doing!
I rate Totianna a 10 out of 10! Totianna is very educated on the subjects of birth and breastfeeding. I have used her lactation knowledge and abilities for two pregnancies. She is amazing at what she does, and I highly recommend her for myself and every mother who wants a safer and healthier pregnancy /birth, as well as receive adequate and phenomenal assistance during the postpartum phase/ breastfeeding. My experience was personal and met the needs of myself and that of my babies. She’s officially a part of our family!
Thanks again Totianna !
