Hey there, I’m Rebekah!
Most days you can find me in my sweats at my computer or organizing a closet. People often refer to me as BusyBeka because I always have to be working towards a goal! I don’t sit still and rest well. Ha ha! I am mostly known for my drive to serve others and passion for birth and photography. I love influencing the world one birth at a time helping mothers have a birth experience where they feel 100% supported and capturing the sweet moments if they desire. Other than that, I am passionate about my relationship with Jesus, my beautiful family, and being active in nature.
I work with families who yearn for a positive birth experience, however that looks to them. They may struggle with anxiety or simply want the support of someone whose sole purpose is to get to know them and help their desires become reality. I am honored to be apart of their birth team, to encourage, give hands on support, help keep a positive atmosphere, and so much more….
As a doula I am continuously learning. I certified through CAPPA 3 years ago, but have gone on to train with YBE Equip, and am in the process of extra rebozo training. I feel it is important to constantly be learning and growing!
When I’m not busy serving a client or editing photos, you can catch me organizing, being outside with my family, or helping at church. I have an amazing supportive husband of 16 years and we have 6 beautiful children ranging from 4 to 15 years old. We have 3 pets. A reptile (bearded dragon), rodent (Guinea pig), and a beta fish. We often joke that if our fish was a bird, we’d have the “Wonder Pets” (a kid show with talking pets that save the day!) But what really makes our family unique is that two of our six children are adopted and through two very different ways. Our 5th child was adopted locally through a local agency and when we decided to adopt again, we did embryo adoption and I gave birth to our adopted Filipino son!
If you’re dying to hear more, here are five things you might not know about me…
1. I have always been good with my hands. My parent’s friends would offer to pay me for a massage at just 12 years old.
2. I was 19 years old when we had our first child.
3. Our third son has special needs.
4. I induced lactation to be able to nurse our adopted daughter.
5. Our embryo adoption pregnancy ended in a placenta abruption and emergency c-section @ 35 weeks. We joke that he wanted to come out like he went in….. Surgically!
My personal philosophy of birth is that we are created with the innate ability to give birth. That birth is a physiological event, not a medical emergency. However, I am thankful for science and technology for times that it is necessary. As a doula, my philosophy is that my ideals do not matter and it is my job to learn what it is you desire for your birth and help you achieve it! To help you feel inspired, empowered, and encouraged! Regardless of the twists and turns birth may bring you, I want you to feel like you made every decision fully informed so that you can walk away feeling that you made the best choices for YOU every step of the way!

Our inspirational birth
Since the birth of our baby girl, we’ve had many friends and family ask, “How did things go with your doula? Was it worth having?” Both myself and my initially skeptic husband have immediately answered “YES!”. My husband will tell you that Rebekah saved us! This was our first born and even after taking child birth classes, nothing really preps you for the experience. Rebekah knew exactly what I was needing or how to help me feel more comfortable before I could put my feelings into words. This really took a huge amount of stress off of my husband and allowed him to remain calm and be supportive. She helped me work/breathe through all of my contractions and delivery, free of any medication. When I think back on my labor, her image/presence is what kept me feeling calm and safe. We are so glad Rebekah was with us through this special moment, and strongly recommend her!!
Rebekah was wonderful to work with! Both my husband and I really appreciated her support and all the helpful information she provided throughout my pregnancy and after. She focused on providing us with the birth experience we wanted and how to best make that a reality. She is easy to talk to and answered all my questions. We would work with Rebekah again and recommend her to any friends. Also, she took amazing photos without sacrificing her doula duties 🙂
Rebekah supported me during my third birth. It was my second vbac, but first home birth. She jkjelped me feel so much peace throughout my pregnancy and supported me in every decision, while helping me make educated decisions. It was important to me to feel like the owner of my pregnancy and birth experience, like I was the one in control. Rebekah helped me find the confidence to stand up for myself and I what I wanted, and I got just that. Our birth was amazing, and she was there with us every step of the way. I feel like I’ve made a lifelong friend with Rebekah.
Rebekah is nothing less than AMAZING and so valuable to the birth experience!!!!
Rebekah was and is AMAZING!!! If you are looking for a doula I would HIGHLY recommend her. This was my first birth and I truly couldn’t have done it without her by my side! Rebekah was great prior to labor and had great professional educational resources readily available and was able to answer questions and offer great encouragement. During labor Rebekah was so key to our birthing experience. She brought a state of calmness, focus, and confidence to me. She was there by my side tending to my needs every moment. Rebekah was very knowledgeable, encouraging, and has a sweet servants heart. She was there the entire time through a very long labor and never grew weary or tired and didn’t leave until labor was over and I was comfortable and ready. My husband and mom were also there for support and we ALL were oh so thankful Rebekah was there. They both had so many praises to say about her afterwards. We were so thankful we hired her on the team. We ALL agree we couldnt have done it without her help! If she hadn’t been present I truly feel I wouldn’t have had the confidence I had and would have been very fearful. If we had to do it all over again we would definetly have her as our doula without a doubt!!! I will forever cherish the memory of the birth of our daughter and Rebekah helping make that day a success!
To partners--Rebekah is exactly what YOU need
As a partner supporting my wife, I wanted to provide her with any comforts possible, including hiring Rebekah if that’s what she wanted. I knew this would help my wife with anxiety and preparing for the birth. I couldn’t have imagined how much pressure was lifted from me to be a comfort to my wife in such a long labor. Rebekah has incredible stamina! She coached me well as a partner, but something about having her there was more comforting for my wife than I ever could have been. I also loved soaking up the instant love my wife and I experienced the moment our baby girl was born because I was gifted time to be fully present and not worry about anything. Thanks Rebekah!
