Hi! I'm T'Arah, CD(DONA) and I can't wait to support you on your birth journey! I am a mother of a sweet baby love and partner to an awesome husband and partner. As a birth doula, I accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have completed my training and certification through DONA International and have had experience with over 40+ births as a birth doula in hospitals, birth centers, and home births. I chose to become a doula because I knew that the best way for me to help the individuals of the world is through evidenced-based information and an instinctual knowledge of comfort, care, and strength. I believe that all life givers have a power within them to create a positive environment for their children beginning from the moment they enter the womb and continuing for the rest of their lives.I began my birth journey from a young age as the oldest of 7 children and 14 grandchildren. Being there during the amazing birth experiences of the life givers in my family and of my friends inspired an innate need to nurture and care for an individual and their partner during one of their most life changing milestones.
My continued birth education includes Spinning Babies, Lactation Education, Birth Without Fear, and 'When Survivors Give Birth'. I believe everyone has the right to their own birth and I aim to be a support for that experience.

I truly believe that we have an inherent and instinctual knowledge of our bodies. For many people this can mean, 'My body knows how to birth this baby.' I believe in this phrase in the truest sense of the words, which is why I am there to support you through any way your body was made to birth: Vaginally, Unmedicated, Cesarean, through Surrogacy. Your body is smart, let's regain that power and knowledge together.

Choosing T’Arah as our Doula has been one of the best decisions I have ever made
I feel truly blessed to have had T’Arah as our Doula. Birth was such a journey for my husband and I since day 1. T’Arah was so warm and encouraging since our first meeting and I knew just then that she was the right person to help deliver our sweet Nicolas. The knowledge she shared with us and the reassurance she gave us made the weeks look less overwhelming and more exciting. I believe choosing T’Arah as our Doula has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am truly grateful for absolutely everything you did, you went above and beyond and my family and I are forever grateful to you!
T'Arah gave me the best birth experience I could have asked for
T’Arah gave me the best birth experience I could have asked for. Very late in my pregnancy I was looking for someone to help me in the delivery room, be by my side and act as my advocate. I was referred to T’Arah and it was one of the best blessings in my life. She went above and beyond to help me during a very stressful and emotional time and I can’t imagine not having her there. She was kind to me and my family and guided us every step of the way to make the birth of my beautiful baby girl a smooth process. She used her knowledge and experience to try different techniques during my labor and educated me along the way. Even after the birth of my beautiful baby girl, she has provided me with guidance and resources. She is smart, kind and professional and I can’t recommend T’Arah enough!
so thankful for her nonjudgmental personality
My husband and I decided early on we would like to find a doula to help advocate for our wants and needs. I called several doulas and discussed with my husband before he pointed out it seemed like I had clicked really well with T’ARAH and should set up a meeting with her. I love the positivity she brings to every situation and I feel so thankful for her nonjudgmental personality that she really just allowed us to choose what was right for our family. She was so helpful with positioning, great for resources like yoga and very knowledgeable when it came to laboring which helped us to feel more informed as this was our first baby. My husband and I loved T’ARAH and feel like she was a great fit for our family.
WE LOVE T'ARAH!!!
WE LOVE T’ARAH!!! My husband and I decided at 36 weeks pregnant that it would be the best choice for us to add a doula to our birth team for reasons of wanting advocacy, mental and physical support for both of us. We contacted several Doulas that we had found by researching online and received a response from T’Arah at Mother Bear Doula Services within hours. T’Arah promptly answered our initial questions and we ended up scheduling to meet in person to talk more in depth about our expectations, wishes, past experiences, etc..
Soon after arriving at the coffee shop, just myself with my toddler in tow, we ordered some drinks and snacks and settled at a table to get to know each other. Of course it wasn’t long before my son became antsy and distracted; but Tarah immediately came to the rescue, pulling coloring supplies out of her bag and playing Paw Patrol on her phone for him to watch. I had barely met her and she was already such a great help to me! 😉
I felt an instant comfortability with T’Arah; I was totally comfortable with going into detail of my previous birth, which had been a traumatic experience, and could sense that she was sincerely invested in mine and my husband’s concerns, wishes and preferences.. She listened, asked questions, provided advice and input and acknowledged my feelings. We shared personal stories and got to know each other more in depth than just birth related topics. More than interviewing her to be our Doula, I felt like I had just made a friend who helped me to feel excited and empowered to give birth!
A few short weeks later, and after meeting with T’Arah a few more times as well as going to the hospital tour together, it was time to have our baby! I had hoped and dreamed that this birth would progress naturally, without induction, but when the time came, there were reasons for my husband and myself to ultimately decide that induction would be the safest course of action for getting our baby out as soon as we could. I was initially heartbroken and scared, but Tarah was there every step of the way, going out of her way to teach us natural labor inducing techniques which did actually help tremendously, as well as staying available to text or call for anything we needed. When the time came to be induced and start our Childbirth journey, T’Arah was present and alert, providing all the support we both needed from walking, getting snacks/drinks, talking, joking, massaging, physically holding me up, counseling, calming, etc.. in spite of being induced, T’Arah encouraged us in taking every step we could to have a birth that we truly wanted, and I succeeded in taking it one step at a time to have the natural birth I had wished for without further intervention.
T’Arah played a key role in helping me have a birth experience that I am proud of and I will always be grateful to her for that. We will definitely have T’Arah as our Doula for any future babies!
T’Arah made all of the difference in my birthing journey.
T’Arah made all of the difference in my birthing journey. Her knowledge and compassion brought us so much peace.
We looked into finding a doula after having had a difficult experience with our firstborn. We wanted to have an advocate in the delivery and still feel in charge at a vulnerable time. T’Arah gave us a lot of great advice and tools going into the later stages of my pregnancy. She was a fantastic guide for not only the physical aspects of expecting but in our emotional needs as well.
T’Arah was with us the whole way through labor. Every false start, question, and bought of anxiety was relieved with her advice. In the delivery room when the midwife said a broad thought like “you need to relax” T’Arah was able to break it down into easy to follow steps. She would say, “You need to put your heels down on the ground. You need to sway this way.” Okay – that I could do. A midwife saying to relax meant nothing to me, but T’Arah giving simple directives made it a breeze.
Unfortunately, our delivery did not go as planned. Through no one’s fault we had a traumatic birthing event and our daughter was transferred to a children’s hospital. The good news was we did have T’Arah. She was there with us in the scariest moment of our lives. Through the entire experience we had a friend with us who was able to offer meaningful emotional support for our whole family. She wrote EVERYTHING down which is an invaluable gift when you are trying to look back at that type of accident.
Later on we were able to meet with T’Arah to go through the birthing timeline. Having that knowledge gave us so much peace of mind. She was able to remind us of beautiful moments in our labor and gave us a perspective that we otherwise would have never had. We are forever grateful to have had her with us.
