Shannon Mathews

Chantilly Virginia and Surrounding Areas

Hi I'm Shannon. I'm a mother of 4. And a supportor of women. I started my journey by starting moms support groups in our area. I have run those groups for 4 years and later became trained as a doula and child birth educator as I saw the need for women to have caring, unbiased support that was well informed and edvidence based. Because of my background working in and around hospitals I am able to translate medical terminology to new parents and help explain what is happening to them or their babies especially in emergency situations. I love helping dads and moms begin their journey of parenthood with confidence!

Doula Philosophy

I'm not a hippy dippy doula :) I'm a warm, friendly, strong personality that works to support your birth goals. I don't come in with a plan for your birth. My goal is to help support and inform you. I want you to be educated and able to make confident decisions for you and your baby. I support medicated and unmedicated births, home and hospital births, C-sections and vaginal births. Each step of the way I want you to feel informed, supported and as in control as the situation allows.
