The Milkshop Doula
Miranda is a wife and mother of four with a passion for supporting families! She is a Birth & Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.
With Miranda you can be sure you’re getting Doula who will provide you with professional and unbiased support. She has served families from all walks of life and many different parenting styles. She herself has had everything from an epidural to a fully unmedicated birth which allows her to better connect and relate to moms no matter what their birthing choices are.
After the birth of her two oldest children she was astounded at the lack of resources and support available to her. That is what sparked her passion for wanting to become a doula. She is dedicated to providing families with the tools they need to make informed choices. She believes if you don’t know your choices, then you don’t have any.
What makes Miranda different from other doulas? When she is brought on to support a mom she isn’t there to advocate or empower you. She firmly believes that mothers are powerful and strong beings to begin with! She wants to support you and provide you with the knowledge, tools and resources you need so you can empower yourself.
In her free time she serves as Outreach Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition and State Representative for Appalachian Breastfeeding Network. She first began getting involved with her community by hosting local events like The Global Big Latch On, volunteering with the March Of Dimes, serving on the planning committee for the March For Babies, and since she herself has been effected by preterm birth she worked with the city of Jacksonville, NC to get their local Freedom Fountain lit purple annually for World Prematurity Day.
Miranda is also very passionate about supporting military families. As a former military spouse she understands the struggles and joys that come with that lifestyle. In 2010 she moved to Camp Lejeune, NC with her husband who was in the Marine Corp, and it is there they began their family and she starting supporting families in the Eastern, NC area. Her husband medically separated in 2017 and they decided to move back home to Northeast, Georgia Mountains.
I am not here to empower you. You are already powerful! I am here to provide the tools and knowledge you need to empower and advocate for yourself.
