About
I was called to birth work after a poor birth experience with my first son due to negligent midwifery care. I was inspired to make sure other women always felt supported, confident and loved while in their birthing space, as they always should. I began my birth career as a midwife assistant, learning hands on from a traditional CPM that was an amazing role model to me. When she moved, I itched to continue but my area was limited on midwives that needed assistants so I pursued doula work and fell even more in love with the knowledge and experience I gained from each birth. Every woman I support continues to teach me and encourage me more to be the best doula and future midwife that I can be.
As for my personal background, I am the eldest of 6 children, my mother is an elementary school teacher and daycare owner and my father is a police sargeant for Tampa PD. I have a 5 year old boy and in July 2018 gave birth to fraternal surrogate twins, naturally and very quickly! I have also had the experience that no mother wants to have, but it adds to my ability to serve so for that I am grateful. I have experienced a total of 4 confirmed miscarriages, one being at 18-week-gestation, so if you need love and support during your miscarriage or stillbirth, I am absolutely willing to attend to you.
My husband is a forager, he gathers wild foods and medicines to use, sell and create products! He is home full-time so this provides me the convenience of easy childcare and drop-and-run doula services, being readily available to serve as soon as you call me. This is a privilege that not many can say they have, and for that I am so thankful.
PS. You can find me on BirthTUBE Videos a few times if you want to get an idea of what my support looks like - Rachel (as featured in the reviews) gave birth in 2018 (look up Patricia Price Doula & Rachel Boyer in the group search bar and you will find several lives of myself supporting this gorgeous, courageous mama, while 32 weeks pregnant with the surrogate twins)
Doula Philosophy
